Use any new or existing local account email. This never creates a Stripe customer or subscription.
An existing account gets a new key and its old key stops working. The same email is ready for step 2.

Then checkoutTest a customer subscription
Use the same email from step 1. An existing local account with no Stripe subscription can continue safely.
Complete Stripe test Checkout, then return here to simulate usage. A confirmation email is sent after the subscription is linked.

After checkoutTest usage billing
Set that same subscriber to 105 pages. Stripe receives the 95-page overage, and the subscriber receives the first-overage email.
No document is uploaded and OpenAI is not called for this check.
When development testing is complete
Set up the real service deliberately
Production is separate from this testing workspace. This page will never accept live secrets or deploy the service.
- Create the live Stripe meter, product, price, and HTTPS webhook.
- Add the live Stripe, SMTP, OpenAI, domain, and database values to the production environment file on the server.
- Run the explicit production promotion after a final development review.
